Position Summary
The Physical Therapist role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and implementing individualized treatment plans to restore function, reduce pain, and enhance overall quality of life for a diverse population with musculoskeletal conditions. The Physical Therapist works closely with physicians, physical therapy assistants, and ancillary staff to coordinate care for optimal patient outcomes.

Schedule: Mon – Fri, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Position Requirements
Education:
Graduate of an approved program for physical therapy – required.
Licensure:
Fully licensed to practice physical therapy in Nebraska and/or Iowa – required.
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire. Advanced clinical certification preferred.
Experience:
Any orthopedic experience as a Physical Therapist – required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to instruct and collaborate with others.
Strong team orientation.
Ability to accomplish multiple tasks and prioritize activities.
Displays flexibility and adaptability to provide patient education about specific treatment needs.
Ability to problem‑solve with patients, team, and other departments within OrthoNebraska.
Essential Job Functions
Deliver high‑quality clinical care and customer service.
Establish goals and treatment plans in collaboration with patients, family members, and the healthcare team.
Provide treatment services to restore, maintain, or improve patient functions.
Promote and advance the hospital’s vision to be the best through departmental initiatives and community outreach.
Develop and enhance the vision of the department with an emphasis on growth and program development.
Promote collaboration with referring physicians.
Offer clinical instruction to physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students.
Collaborate with others, demonstrating good listening, honest and respectful communication, and reaching consensus when making decisions.
Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
Physical requirements:
This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements exceed those for Light Work.
