The Department of Transportation, Engineering District 2-0 is seeking to fill a vacancy for a full-time Engineering Technician. If you want a career in an essential industry with work that impacts the world around you each day, make a difference and apply today!
In this position, you will perform a variety of beginning level technical work in a training nature primarily in the area of surveying. Through this training, you will become proficient in the types of data needed, equipment and methods used in surveying. You will also perform beginning level engineering tasks. For example, you will apply surveying principles to the collection and reporting of data used to design and construct highways and bridges. Additionally, you will participate in trainings on the type, method, operation, setup, and best use for a variety of survey equipment such as Computer Aided Design and Drafting computer programs, and global positioning instruments.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
