26/27 US English Literature and Writing Teacher
AIM Academy, Conshohocken, PA, United States
Overview
AIM Academy is excited to announce the opening of an Upper School English Literature and Writing teaching position for the 2026–2027 school year. AIM is a college-preparatory school specializing in the education of students with language-based learning differences, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and executive functioning challenges.
AIM’s Upper School is an innovative and collaborative environment where teachers work with smaller-than-average caseloads, allowing them to focus on the individual needs of each student. Faculty enjoy a high degree of autonomy in curricular design, supported by well-developed structures that promote research-based, explicit instruction in reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, vocabulary, and engagement with diverse texts.
The Upper School English Department is composed of five faculty members who teach core courses such as Freshmen Survey, World Literature, American Literature, and Senior Seminar, as well as electives including Journalism and Creative Writing. The curriculum is college preparatory and encourages students to make meaningful connections between literature, their own experiences, and the broader world.
The department is supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes instructional leaders, speech-language pathologists, and experienced administrators. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching literature and writing to students with language-based learning differences and will be skilled in designing and delivering explicit, structured instruction within a college-preparatory framework. Experience supporting students with attention and processing challenges, as well as a commitment to collaboration and ongoing professional growth, is highly valued.
AIM’s Institute for Learning and Research provides extensive professional development opportunities, including training prior to the start of the school year and ongoing support throughout a teacher’s tenure.
Because AIM is dedicated to creating a culture of equity and inclusion, candidates should value engaging in open dialogue, questioning, confronting assumptions, and attuning to all voices. Please review AIM’s Equity and Diversity Statement online.
