Operating Room Scheduler
Responsible for the scheduling of surgical cases and preparing the daily operative schedule. Performs related clerical duties necessary to the functioning of the Operating Room.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Prefer one year of course work beyond high school.
Experience:
Minimum of two years clerical experience.
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience/knowledge of OR equipment, supplies, and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Good command of the English language and proficiency in spelling.
Ability to plan and arrange own work and proceed alone, referring unusual situations to the Director of Surgical Services, Unit Director/Manager or Clinical Supervisor.
Working knowledge of computer terminal desirable.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Numerical ability necessary for compiling statistical data in maintaining accurate records.
Clerical perception necessary to detect errors on patient charts and variable reports.
License/Certification/Registration:
None
Receives general supervision from the Director of Perioperative Services, OR Operations Manager, and OR Office Supervisor.
None
Essential Functions
Performs duties necessary for the scheduling of surgical cases.
Performs clerical/secretarial duties necessary to the functioning of the OR.
Communicates effectively and develops professional interpersonal relationships.
Assists in maintaining an orderly and well-functioning work environment.
Non-Essential Functions
Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
