Senior Construction Manager (Environmental Construction)
Earth Systems Response & Restoration, an environmental consulting and remediation firm, is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead field execution of complex environmental remediation and environmental construction projects.
This role represents a senior-level field and project execution position, responsible for managing complex project scopes, overseeing multiple crews, and driving field performance across active sites, while operating within a consulting-driven project structure. Work is executed in alignment with engineering design, regulatory requirements, and client objectives.
The Senior Construction Manager works closely with engineers, project managers, and operations leadership, serving as a key field resource to ensure successful project delivery across multiple concurrent activities.
This is a hybrid role with remote flexibility when not in the field; however, it requires frequent travel to project sites and the ability to report to Austin or Midland offices as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead field execution of complex environmental remediation and construction projects
Manage excavation, soil management, containment systems, remediation system installations, and site restoration activities
Execute remedial action plans in accordance with engineering design and project specifications
Manage and oversee multiple field crews, subcontractors, and remediation teams across active sites
Coordinate equipment, materials, and workforce planning to support project demands
Monitor project schedules, field productivity, and work quality across multiple scopes
Identify field challenges and implement solutions to maintain project progress
Ensure all remediation activities align with regulatory requirements, permits, and environmental standards
Oversee environmental monitoring, soil management, and waste handling activities
Maintain accurate field documentation and support project reporting requirements
Lead project-level safety efforts including safety meetings, JSAs, and hazard assessments
Enforce OSHA safety standards and HAZWOPER requirements across all field operations
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across crews and project sites
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, or related field OR equivalent combination of field experience and demonstrated leadership in environmental remediation or construction
710 years of experience in environmental remediation, environmental construction, or environmental consulting field operations
Experience managing multiple crews, subcontractors, and field operations
Strong background in remediation construction execution and field leadership
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and remediation plans
Strong coordination, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to travel frequently and work in field environments
Preferred / Bonus
OSHA 30 Certification
40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
Experience with groundwater remediation systems (e.g., SVE, air sparging, treatment systems)
Experience working within an environmental consulting or remediation services firm
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role includes both field work and administrative responsibilities. Work is performed on active remediation and construction sites, including industrial facilities and brownfield redevelopment projects.
Participating in safety and project coordination meetings
Navigating uneven terrain, excavation areas, and active job sites
Climbing slopes, ladders, and equipment
Standing for extended periods; bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
Lifting and carrying materials up to 40 pounds
