Lead Project Controls Specialist - Berlin

Play a pivotal role in the success of the Northeast Bridge Team portfolio on mega projects including the Connecticut River Bridge, Livingston Avenue Bridge, Pelham Bay Bridge, as well as other future projects. Individuals in this role will develop project schedules, dashboards, cost, and resource performance reports, to enable efficient and effective project delivery. This individual is responsible for using existing enterprise tools, systems, and work processes to drive effective planning and control within an integrated project scheduling system for a specific project.
The successful candidate will help support the execution of challenging, signature bridge projects through both design and construction. This candidate shall deliver safe, on-time, cost-effective and high-quality projects for Amtrak.
Integrate cost and schedule data as well as information for vendors and external entities to facilitate risk, schedule, and budget performance reporting.
Develop reporting mechanisms, dashboards and presentations about project performance indicators and feed this data to ensure a cohesive picture of the Project/program and/or portfolio.
Work with the Project/Program team through risk, issue, and opportunity management.
Maintain master Project/Program risk register.
Perform monthly analysis and reporting of cost performance, providing detailed analysis to project team to improve project performance and forecasting as well as to Capital Finance team to support corporate reporting and grants management.
Develop "bottom-up" forecasts quarterly to evaluate performance against Total Life of Project Cost and Schedule and other estimates as required to support evaluation of new scope or potential changes.
Review and vet invoices, receive them into Amtrak's Ariba-on-Demand system and develop monthly accruals.
Communicate with Finance on journal entries and corrections.
Assist in development of annual operating plan, including working closely with project managers to estimate costs for upcoming fiscal year as well as out years. Work with Capital Finance to refine plan as necessary.
Oversee administration of department budget, including managing off cycle reprogramming requests for new or adjusted funding on projects and preparation and/or approval of purchase requisitions.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
