Quality Assurance Manager

Responsibilities

Direct responsible for the site Quality Administration internally to management, employees and externally to our customers and vendors. Hands on leader responsible for the plant QMS recognizing that everyone in the site is responsible for helping ensure quality in our products and services.
The QA Manager holds a good understanding of the technologies involved in the design, manufacture and test of the site products, understands processes and its impact on product properties. Experience with how an effective Quality Management System can ensure quality in our products and positively impact achieving the sites business goal.
The Quality manager works with others on the site leadership team to prepare the annual budget and achieve performance goals driving to customer satisfaction.
Job Duties & Responsibilities

Active promoter of EHS programs within his functional group and in the plant in general, ensuring that all tasks are performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Provides direction, coaching, and training for all quality team members and ensures they work safely.
Active participant on 5S events, from twice a week 5S Squad activity, to the 5S GEMBA programs; promotes that all his direct reports and QA personnel participates with the monthly dynamic GDC Near Miss and Observations programs as well as the Quality Near miss activities as well.
Directly responsible for the coordination of the internal audit program as well as maintaining our site ISO compliant organizing and conducting all necessary process and quality records.
Interacts with process Technicians, frontline leaders, maintenance and production employees in investigating and resolving quality issues, making recommendations for preventive action, optimizing current products and processes and commercializing new products.
Develop and maintain systems including performance measurements, failure costs, control systems, quality standards, product and process capability for all raw materials and finished products by utilizing such tools as statistical methods, pareto charts, flow charting and failure mode effects analysis in coordination with the Process Engineers and Process Techs.
Establish and maintain a process and quality assurance audit function to ensure compliance to standards and specifications. Develop corrective action plans and systems. Maintains close communication and coordination with the customers while managing investigations to Quality complaints ensuring timely responses and corrective action coordination.
Supports the efforts of the process engineers in investigating and resolving quality issues, by initiating the initial investigations, making recommendations for preventive actions, optimizing current products and processes and assisting in commercializing new products.
Interfaces with multiple functions and customers to resolve problems, respond to customer complaints, develop corrective actions, develop new products, and improve existing processes. Implements a tracking system to ensure a timely response to customer complaints ensuring the final report is obtained and received by the customers.
Support customer's requirements with regards to Quality Complaints and feedback, including, Quality Requirements and Improvement Plans.
Provides support in developing specification for new products and its corresponding process conditions. Ensure that the organization's Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
Regularly interfaces with customers and vendors associated to the site's Quality Management system.
Improve the Quality performances by developing Quality Assurance Plans, auto-control and SPC processes, training and audits.
Serves as an active resource on plant technologies, control systems, and raw materials. Initiates and assists with implementation of process control improvements using DMAIC planning process
Leads process changes and maintain FMEA's for the designated assets
Tracks improvements through use of Hoshin, Kaizen and other approved methodologies for the designated area. Conduct periodic management review meetings.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering from an accredited university.
Six Sigma Black or Green belt preferred
Minimum of 3 years in Process Engineering or related field. Experience in extrusion or textiles preferred.
