EVS/Maintenance Worker I Village Based
Perform cleaning and maintenance in assigned clinic to maintain the facility in an aseptic condition as required. This position is key to enhancing patient care and employee health, accordingly all duties should be conducted in accordance with infection control policies and procedures for best practices.
Provide skilled maintenance and complex repair work on the clinic building itself as well as mechanical systems, campus grounds and limited medical equipment.

Essential Functions:
Inspect, calibrate, adjust, clean and lubricate mechanical and electrical controls, valves, gauges, meters etc. and report equipment and structural problems to immediate supervisor
Test equipment using safety analyzer, volt meters, ohm meters, amp meters and special hand tools
Provide installation and repair services on major systems and limited medical equipment throughout the facility and campus grounds as indicated by appropriate logs and work orders, reporting any major maintenance concerns or damage to immediate supervisor
Clean and disinfect surface areas according to established cleaning procedures to include, but not limited to, waxing, stripping, shampooing, vacuuming, sweeping, damp wiping, etc.
Empty trash, sorting and disposing of contaminated and non-contaminated trash according to established procedures and Infection Control guidelines
Check equipment prior to the start of each day for any malfunctions, notifying supervisor if any, and clean equipment daily
Check fuel tank levels, boiler operation and water systems, reporting any problems that need to be resolved
Remove snow and ice from entrances to provide access to the clinic
Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:
Work is conducted in an office environment and in a standard clinical environment to include exposure to latex, biohazard or other harmful substances
Work is sometimes in confined spaces and in areas of high noise and/or high/low temperatures
Incumbent works with common chemicals and will be exposed to associated hazards typically found in maintenance shops
Travel is required (more than 75% of the time)
Travel is required via small (less than 16 passenger) aircraft
Work will be conducted outside in inclement weather conditions
