Sentara Port Warwick Emergency is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator.
The RN unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, the RN leader drives safety and quality initiatives, focuses on simplifying workflow, and contributes to staff development. This role increases staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Full time, 36 hours per week

Education
RN-Bachelor’s Degree
RN-Master’s Degree
Certification/Licensure
Virginia or Compact Multi‑state RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
ACLS & PALS or ENPC within one (1) year of hire.
BLS within 90 days of hire.
Experience
Experienced RN
18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master’s degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
Behavioral Health - de‑escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
Emergency Care - de‑escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
In the Emergency Department/Ambulatory, we have a family atmosphere amongst our team. We meet in a fast‑paced environment with high energy and positivity. We treat patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, and we utilize ED Techs to assist with supportive duties.
