In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:## Job Title:Senior Lecturer - History## Department:Arts and Sciences | HistoryThe Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for a Senior Lecturer who will also serve as the Managing Editor for Origins: Current Events in Historical Perspective () and Picturing Black History (PBH, https://picturingblackhistory.org/). This role blends teaching (4 courses per academic year) with leadership of two major public‐facing history platforms that produce approximately 250 pieces of multimedia and educational content annually.This faculty member will teach in their area of expertise, with preference for candidates who can contribute to U.S. History and World History survey courses. They will also lead editorial operations, multimedia content production, outreach, social media outreach, grant writing, and strategic development for Origins and PBH.**Performance Objectives****Teaching** (4 Courses per Academic Year)* Teaches four courses annually in candidate’s area of expertise, with preference given to those with experience teaching U.S. History and World History.* Demonstrates comprehensive, effective undergraduate teaching.* Editorial, Multimedia, and Public Humanities Leadership* Edits essays and manages editorial workflow.* Produces and edits video content.* Leads production of three podcast series.* Develops teacher resources and supports educator outreach.* Manages special projects such as “250 for 250” and the Picturing Black History books.* Oversees website updates and functionality improvements.* Maintains constant communications with On Fire Media, ASC Tech, and external partners.* Conducts statistical analysis and performance reporting.* Manages email accounts and social media oversight.* Handles payments and accounting.* Hires, trains, and supervises Graduate Assistants.* Maintains collaborations and meets regularly with team from Getty Images.* Delivers public talks and supports PBH book publicity.* Writes grants and work with Development to bring in additional financial support for the projects**Performance Goals*** Maintains or exceeds current annual production levels of all media and educational content.* Increases audience reach and engagement.* Expands platform impact through partnerships and public programming.* Secures external and internal grant funding and donations.* Sustains high‐quality editorial and multimedia standards.* Strengthens educator‐facing initiatives.* Improves platform functionality and user experience.**Education and Experience Requirements****Required:*** PhD in History or a related humanities field.**Desired:*** Experience supervising graduate assistants.* Experience coordinating with external partners.* Background in developing K–12 curriculum resources.* Experience in public engagement.* Editorial experience.* Video production experience.* Website management experience.* Grant writing experience.* Social media management experience.* Demonstrated ability to manage multi‐stage projects.Ohio State provides access to a depth and breadth of opportunities and resources.
