RN Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit - 36 Hours Weekly - Midnight Shift
Sign On Bonus: Up to $10,000

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, Rotating weekends and holidays

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description: Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 4 North Cardiac Stepdown Unit is a 36-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with chest pain, arrhythmias and heart failure. We are also designated as secondary stroke unit within the facility. The majority of our patients are transferred to the unit via Intensive Care, or are postoperative from the Cardiac Cath Lab or Operating Room. Our nurses have an average patient ratio of 3-4:1, and the support of Registered Nurse Leadership, RNs, and Patient Care Technicians.

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.

Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.

Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.

Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

BSN preferred.

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.

Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.

Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
