Position Overview
Salty Paws Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our hospital. Practice high‑quality Fear Free medicine in a beautiful state‑of‑the‑art facility. We are looking for candidates who excel in client communication, are self‑motivated, competent, hard‑working, and team‑focused.
Role:
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Status:
Full‑time
Salary:
Negotiable and based on experience & licensure
Schedule:
Four‑day workweeks. Weekends off.
Requirements:
Valid Virginia State Veterinary Technician License required.
Responsibilities
Obtaining and interpreting patient vital signs
Perform laboratory tests (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, fecal flotation, ear cytology, etc.)
Induce and monitor anesthesia
Surgical assisting and monitoring
Care for hospitalized patients
Administer medications (oral, injectable, transdermal, etc.)
Obtaining radiographs
Qualifications & Skills
Integrity, honesty, and personal responsibility
Time management and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
Leadership skills to train and develop veterinary assistants and kennel assistants
