Lead proactive, data-driven surveillance, conducting comprehensive investigations through review of admission diagnoses, microbiology results, isolation practices, clinical documentation, and post-discharge indicators.
Help guide the organization in meeting and exceeding standards set by The Joint Commission, the California Department of Public Health, FDA, and CDC.

ABOUT THIS OUTSTANDING INTERIM OPPORTUNITY
Works under the guidance and support of a seasoned, innovative Infection Prevention Leader and the Quality Director
Conducts ongoing surveillance investigation and follow-up of infections through review of admission diagnoses, microbiology culture results, isolation orders, patient records, consultation requests, and post-discharge surveillance
Ensures rigorous infection control standards that meet TJC, California Department of Public Health, FDA, and CDC requirements
Participates in the investigation and reporting of hospital infection outbreaks
Performs program assessment and makes recommendations for correction and improvement
Provides a safe healthcare environment for patients by using evidence-based guidelines to prevent HAIs
Develops prevention and educational strategies for staff, physicians, and patients
EXPERIENCE | EDUCATION | LICENSURE | CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of current experience in acute care infection prevention and control
Knowledge of TJC, CDPH, FDA, and CDC requirements
Knowledge of regulatory and clinical practice guidelines, including TJC survey readiness
Computer skills should include NHSN data entry/reporting, clinical surveillance software, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, and Microsoft Office suite; EPIC would be highly preferred
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) is desired
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
Available to travel to the client-site and work a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, or as needed
