Volleyball Coaching & Leadership Internship
for college students who want to build coaching, teaching, and leadership experience while working with girls in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts.
As part of our
Landsports Program , you’ll focus on coaching
Volleyball
while also contributing to a broader athletics program that helps campers grow as athletes and as individuals—developing skills, confidence, and teamwork in a supportive, high-energy environment. This position works closely with our
Landsports Director
and is ideal for students studying Sport Management, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Coaching, Recreation, or related fields.
The Role
Interns serve in a dual capacity at Danbee:
Program Instructor (Volleyball Coach)
You’ll lead and instruct campers primarily in
Volleyball , focusing on skill development, game strategy, and teamwork. You may also support other landsports activities as part of the overall program.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching fundamentals such as passing, setting, serving, and hitting
Running drills, games, and scrimmages for a range of skill levels
Creating a positive and encouraging team environment
Helping campers build confidence, sportsmanship, and a love for the game
You’ll work closely with the
Landsports Director
to help deliver a strong, organized, and engaging athletics program.
Cabin Counselor (Youth Mentor)
You’ll also live in a cabin with
8–12 campers and three co-counselors , serving as a mentor and role model throughout the summer. From wake‑up to lights‑out, you’ll help guide campers through daily routines, build friendships, and support the small moments that shape their experience.
Internship & Professional Development
This role is structured to support internship‑style learning and skill‑building. As a Volleyball Coaching & Leadership Intern, you will:
Practice coaching and teaching techniques with diverse age and skill levels
Develop leadership and communication skills through daily work with campers and staff
Learn to manage group dynamics, motivation, and conflict resolution
Gain experience planning and leading progressive sports sessions and activities
Work under the guidance of the Landsports Director and Leadership team
Internship credit may be available based on your college or university’s requirements. We will gladly provide documentation, evaluations, or supervision details as needed by your program.
The Perks
Salary starts at
$2,300
(college freshman level, with increases for each year of college)
Travel allowance
in addition to salary
