Job Summary and Qualifications
* This is a Full Time Day shift position, Monday - Friday, hours are typically 8:00am - 4:30pm *
As an RN Clinical Practice Specialist, you will help support the cellular therapy program to meet the unique regulatory, training, and monitoring requirements for hematopoetic stem cell transplant and immune cellular therapy.
What You Will Do In This Role:
Develops annual educational and competency validation plans for staff focused on a cellular therapy needs assessment.
Designated authorized representative for Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS).
Develops staff and patient education related to cellular therapy as it relates to the care of the patient, chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, medication management, treatment related side effects, and supportive care.
Provides education and training to the cellular therapy multidisciplinary team as it relates to complex blood cancer, hematopoietic cell therapy, and immune effector cell therapy.
Assists in developing and implementing onboarding training materials and competencies for complex blood cancer, hematopoetic progenitor cell therapy, and immune effector cell therapy.
Maintains policies and procedures related to IECT.
Serves as a cellular therapy resource to the multidisciplinary team, emergency department, and critical care teams.
Provides leadership in the implementation of quality improvements and innovations
Serves as the point of contact (POC) for commercial immune effector cellular therapy (IECT) vendors for education, training, and REMS responsibilities.
Responsible for tracking reportable occurrences to the FDA.
Develops and submits quarterly REMS compliance reports as defined by HCA regulatory compliance.
Participates in pharmaceutical site visits and the onboarding of new IECT therapies.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
Bachelors Degree required, Masters preferred
Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license
(OCN) Oncology Certified Nurse, or (TCTCN) Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Certified Nurse must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
3+ years experience in management of stem cell transplant and cellular therapy patients required
