
Room Service Ambassador - Part Time - Rotating

Work Schedule: Possible shifts are 5am to 1:30pm; 6:30am to 3pm; 10am to 6:30pm; 2pm to 10pm; 4pm to 12:30am. Weekend availability is required. Additional hours may be available on weekdays.
Job type: Casual position. Employees work on an ‘as needed’ basis.
Responsibilities
Prepare assembly area for room service tray production, conduct pre-service quality checks, and maintain cleanliness.
Maintain adequate level of food and supplies, ensuring par levels in food service area and nourishment centers are met.
Assemble and deliver patient food trays to patient’s room, following Room Service guidelines to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
Assist in the production and preparation of food items to ensure Room Service orders are prepared and delivered on schedule.
Interact with patients, families, hospital staff, and Food Service team to support orders and answer questions in a welcoming, professional manner.
Assist patients with pre-meal service (e.g., removing lids, opening packets) following Room Service guidelines.
Retrieve Room Service tray carts from designated areas and assist with cleaning trays to ensure continuity of service.
Follow proper food handling procedures and comply with quality performance standards to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
Job Requirements
Education
High School diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) preferred.
Experience
6 months food service experience preferred, preferably in hospitality/culinary with strong emphasis on customer service.
License/Certifications
Food Handler's Certificate preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Knowledge of food production and delivery process preferred.
Knowledge of computers preferred.
Basic math skills required.
Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers required.
Strong customer service skills required, including face-to-face and telephone.
Able to read, write, and carry out oral and written instructions accurately and efficiently required.
