The position will be onsite based in Boise, Idaho or Pleasanton, CA.
Main Responsibilities
Running a competitive event:
Ensure smooth execution of category review and event timelines and processes to deliver on category strategy and other projects such as RFIs/RFQs
Help develop key category documents (e.g., category review, strategy, award recommendations)
Collate RFI and RFP responses and vendor feedback letters; work with central sourcing analytics team to build negotiation docs with manager input
Collaborate with sourcing central contracts team to manage contract paperwork with vendors
Leading analysis:
Lead and own outcomes on category‑strategy setting analyses and cost analytics that set the context of any competitive event
Lead and own outcomes of competitive event response analytics to build preliminary views of award scenarios and vendor competencies; push bid analytics forward through feedback framing for vendors
Collaborate with the central sourcing analytics team on all analyses, providing the central team with a plan for analysis, nuanced category inputs on analysis prepared by the team
Vendor management:
Manage vendor communications through day‑to‑day activities and competitive events such as launch, kick‑off calls, email correspondence including Q&A
Also manage vendor communications and feedback through sample reviews and other such activities that may be led by other teams outside of sourcing
Executing on the day‑to‑day:
Support with the execution and management of non‑competitive event activities such as managing cost changes, product discontinuations/reformulations/artwork changes, new item sourcing, etc
We Are Looking For Candidates Who Possess The Following
Preferred degree in: Economics, Mathematics, Food Science, Managerial Economics, or Statistics.
Good understanding of sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with at least intermediate MSExcel skills.
Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise‑wide systems/tools.
Excellent team interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks while providing superior service.
Ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills including PowerPoint and Word capabilities, including confidence to present recommendations to leadership.
Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills.
High energy level, initiative, creative problem‑solving ability, and sense of urgency.
Ability to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
Strong curiosity to learn and willingness to ask questions as to how we can continuously improve the department.
Passion for the food, retail or consumer packaged goods industry.
0‑3 years’ experience and the education listed above.
