Scientific Program Analyst
– National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) located in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities
Prepare scientific and programmatic presentation materials such as tables, graphs, slides, abstracts, posters, and overheads by assimilating and mastering scientific data and programmatic context for use at presentations and meetings.
Identify, assess, draft, edit, revise and assemble necessary background materials.
Read, interpret, analyze and condense material from a variety of sources for presentation.
Perform logistical planning for scientific meetings, conference calls, symposia, lectures, workshops and special projects.
Give regular progress reports to sponsor and stakeholders.
Coordinate the daily workload of junior staff, providing clear objectives and expectations.
Conduct research and evaluation of scientific programs, including data analysis, database development, and rapid information retrieval.
Develop and maintain databases, SharePoint sites, spreadsheets, and other computer applications.
Prepare written reports and presentations for program leadership, including tables, charts and graphs.
Provide project management support for large and/or complex projects with internal and external stakeholders.
Track action items and tasks, provide deadline reminders, and maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.
Assist staff in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading programmatic documents such as agendas, letters, handouts, and reports.
Lead initiatives to improve database tools, develop new formats for reporting program management and budgetary data, and evaluate current scientific programs.
Collaborate with policymakers to align interests with mission and develop strategies to educate or inform them on scientific, educational, and outreach efforts.
Perform statistical analysis, including data management, descriptive statistics, linear regression, and survival models.
