Quality Improvement Abstractor PRN

Job Summary and Qualifications
This position has individual responsibility for abstracting data as defined by the various measure sets/indicators. This data may be entered into computer database and/or Microsoft Word, Excel, or manually entered on a form. Monitor for compliance to maintain hospital standards of care in accordance with JCAHO, state, and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Systematically abstracts specified data that is complete, accurate, and consistent.

Concurrently reviews all required patient records for compliance with core measures indicators.

Demonstrates and facilitates compliance with JCAHO, CMS, AHCA requirements regarding timeliness of submission of data.

Exhibits responsibility and accountability for assigned work, works independently.

Balances multiple tasks/projects while meeting organizational standards.

Is extremely detail oriented and follows through on all assigned tasks.

Adapts to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions.

Uses various software programs to develop, generate and update documentation.

Reviews medical records according to criteria and outcome data identified.

Works effectively as a team member.

Demonstrates excellent skills in planning, organizing, and managing personnel resources in a cost-effective and productive manner for the operation of the nursing department.

Understands all functional areas of the hospital.

Maintains regular, punctual, and dependable attendance.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

AS degree in Nursing.

Current State of Florida license for Registered Nurse or appropriate compact licensure; if compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.

Abstracting experience preferred.

3‑5 years clinical experience.
