What We're Looking For
Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center is looking for a compassionate, caring Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider to join a collaborative Pulmonary & Critical team of 8 physicians and 3 APPs in Wilmington, NC. This is an inpatient‑only position. Rotation will alternate one week on/one week off between day and night shifts. The position will work holidays and weekends. Critical care experience required, preferably MICU experience. Acute Care certification required for NPs. We are looking for a patient‑focused, compassionate, caring, and honest provider committed to the health and wellness of people in our community and surrounding communities.
Position Highlights
Rotation of day and night shift
Opportunity to work with internal medicine residents.
Learn to perform central lines, A‑lines, intubations, simple bronchoscopies, chest tubes, critical care ultrasound.
Day Shift: Primarily with the planned co‑management service with cardiology to provide dedicated critical care coverage to CCU/CVICU (start date tentatively Summer 2026). Certain CME courses will be required. May be expected to flex and support other daytime intensivists in the medical ICU.
Night shift: Work with nighttime intensivist providing cross‑cover of patients, admitting patients to MICU, responding to codes.

Requirements
Education: Master’s Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post‑Master’s NP program required. Acute Care certification required for NPs.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, ACLS, DEA registry required.
Experience: Strong preference for one to three years working in pulmonary and critical care; MICU experience highly preferred.
