Job Summary
As a Sous Chef, you will support the day‑to‑day operations of the Culinary Department, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and service. This role assists with supervising food preparation and cooking, developing daily menus, and overseeing proper execution and garnishment. You will help lead and train hourly culinary staff, collaborate with the Executive Chef to create new menu offerings, and support ordering and inventory processes. This position is ideal for an energetic, hands‑on culinary professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures for the account
Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
Produce and execute catering events
Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
Preferred Qualifications
A.S. or equivalent experience
Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
Catering experience a plus
High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
Proficiency with computers; including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook, E‑mail and the Internet
Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
ServSafe certified - highly desirable
