Regional Safety Coordinator
We are currently looking for a Regional Fleet and Safety Coordinator. The Regional Safety Coordinator is critical to maximizing fleet efficiencies and execution of safety best practices to ensure a safe working environment for R.T. Moore employees.
Responsibilities
Thoroughly conduct regular job site safety audits across Midwest departments to ensure adherence of all safety regulations in accordance with the company safety policy, OSHA, and general contractor requirements.
Accurately track and summarize safety audits to ensure coverage across all crews and job sites for compliance.
Urgently communicate safety audit violations to field crews and management to guarantee a safe work environment.
Proactively involve field leaders in the safety audits to highlight areas of improvement.
Assertively work with corporate safety managers to identify what changes need to be made to current policies and procedures.
Hold each field manager and superintendent accountable for completing safety training requirements.
Accurately create, compile, and track all safety training for all regional employees, including OSHA 10/30, toolbox talks, and injury safety training as needed.
Work with Corporate Safety Manager on annual OSHA filings and quickly respond to all OSHA violation abatements.
Advise and lead employees on various safety‑related topics.
Work with the Corporate Safety Manager to set up a new safety onboarding process for all new employees.
Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine root causes and preventative measures.
Oversee workplace repair, installations, and any other work to elevate employees' safety.
Carefully develop site‑specific safety plans and emergency action plans for multifamily jobs.
Serve as the crane rigging focal point by leading critical crane picks onsite with other qualified rigging and signaling persons to achieve accident‑free lifts.
Investigate job‑site injuries and support field teams in reporting and attending workers compensation review meetings.
Confidently oversee, schedule, and complete all Tipton fleet vehicle maintenance requirements including GPS issues.
Consistently schedule, track, and conduct Midwest fleet vehicle inspections across departments.
Expertly make purchase recommendations to the management team as to whether a fleet vehicle should be sold or repaired with the utilization of fleet data.
Accurately manage, distribute, and reconcile fleet fuel cards to drivers as needed.
Thoroughly vet, select, and maintain relationships with vehicle maintenance vendors.
Assuredly communicate with the lead fleet technician to report and complete fleet issues.
Proactively own the image of the midwestern fleet by holding accountability to the Midwest department.
Undoubtedly maintain the fleet to run safely and economically.
Regularly distribute and coach highlighted drivers on the driver scorecard to ensure compliance.
Efficiently manage the multifamily equipment needs by balancing the use of RTM‑owned equipment and rental equipment to provide the most savings for the company and job sites.
Qualifications
2 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
Excellent knowledge of legislations and procedures
Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
Proficient in MS Office
Outstanding organizational skills
Critical thinker and problem‑solving skills
Good time‑management skills
Certificate in occupational health and safety (OSHA 30, STSC)
Clear, effective communication skills – both written and verbal
Ability to assertively and effectively negotiate and resolve interpersonal issues
Preference for accuracy, attention to detail, and organization
Proficient in using basic office equipment
Motivated work ethic
Clear verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate with a team
Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Ability to read, write, and interpret reports and documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
Critical thinking skills and ability to problem‑solve independently
A high school diploma or GED is required
4 years of experience preferred
Working Conditions
Temperature variability – not a temperature‑controlled environment.
The environment may include very loud noises, working near mechanical and moving parts, working at various heights, and small, awkward, confining workspaces.
Must be capable of lifting 50–100 pounds
Must be able to do the following activities for most of the workday on concrete floors: stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, see, talk and hear.
Driving/daytime travel required
Well‑lighted, heated and/or air‑conditioned indoor office setting
Moderately noisy environment with light traffic, office equipment, and guest entrance
Willing and able to work on out of town/out of state projects as needed
Capable and willing to wear jobsite specific personal protective equipment
