Conservation Camp Counselor (Interim) – Camp Earl Wallace, Monticello, KY. The role instructs and assists campers in archery, swimming, water safety, hunter safety, first aid, or nature study.
Responsibilities
Instructs and assists in various conservation camp programs; teaches and demonstrates applicable methods, principles, and techniques.
Works with young campers to develop sportsmanship, leadership, and an appreciation for conservation.
Counsels campers and monitors them in their cabins at night.
Leads general camping activities.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
First Aid and CPR certified, certified lifeguard, basic archery instructor, and hunter education instructor.
Responsible and positive outlook.
Willingness to work as part of a team.
A self‑starter/motivated individual.
Adaptability and flexibility.

Special Requirements
Upon employment, must obtain certification in one of the following areas no later than thirty (30) days from employment commencement date: Red Cross Water Safety Instructor; Red Cross Life Guard; Red Cross Life Guard Instructor; Red Cross Basic Life Saving; Red Cross Small Craft Instructor; Red Cross Standard First Aid; Red Cross Small Craft Safety; American Heart Association CPR; Red Cross CPR; Hunter Education Certificate; Hunter Education Instructor; NRA Instructor Certification; Bow Hunter Education Instructor Certificate; Boater Education Certificate; or Basic Archery Instructor Training Certificate. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the duration of employment.
Working Conditions
Works in a conservation summer camp for young people, primarily outdoors in a rustic setting. May be required to work with campers during evening hours.
