Job Summary
Chesterton Academy of the Divine Family, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school in the Chesterton Schools Network, seeks a mission-driven Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for integrated learning, a deep love for the Catholic faith, and a strong background in the natural sciences.

The Science Teacher will help implement a rigorous, wonder-filled curriculum rooted in classical education, engaging students in the study of nature and creation through the lens of faith and reason. This position offers the unique opportunity to be part of the founding faculty, helping to establish a culture of academic excellence, spiritual formation, and joyful discovery.

Responsibilities
Academic Instruction

Teach high school-level science courses (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Earth Science), as assigned

Foster student engagement and intellectual curiosity through lectures, labs, and discussions

Integrate faith and reason in the exploration of the natural world

Support student learning with regular feedback, assessments, and individualized support

Collaborate with faculty on cross-disciplinary projects and curriculum planning

Classroom & Student Engagement

Cultivate a classroom culture of joy, reverence, and intellectual rigor

Promote the development of virtue and habits of attention, observation, and inquiry

Offer support and mentorship to students both academically and personally

Participate in the school’s House system, school retreats, and extracurricular programs

Faculty & School Life

Collaborate with fellow faculty in professional development and classical pedagogy formation

Attend faculty meetings, school events, and spiritual formation opportunities

Serve as a model of faith, charity, and professional excellence in all interactions

Help build the school’s Catholic and classical identity through enthusiastic participation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science-related field (Master’s preferred)

Prior teaching experience (preferably in a classical or Catholic school)

Passion for teaching and mentoring high school students

Practicing Roman Catholic, joyfully faithful to the Magisterium, and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity

Ability to communicate scientific knowledge in a way that harmonizes with the Catholic intellectual tradition

Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills

A heart for evangelization, wonder, and the formation of saints and scholars
