Hourly Pay Range
$61.22 - $85.71 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

Position: Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) - Critical Care/ICU

Location: Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview, IL

Full Time/Part Time: Part-Time, 36 hours per week

Hours: Monday-Friday between 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.; occasional 6:45 a.m. - 6:45 p.m.; rotating weekends and holidays required. No overnights or call.

Required Travel: Evanston, Highland Park, and Skokie Hospitals. Travel to all NorthShore sites during orientation and occasionally for cross-coverage afterwards will be required.

Job Description
Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health Department of Critical Care! Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.

Working with Intensivists & the multidisciplinary team, the CCS APP provide comprehensive exams, differential diagnosis, & prescribe treatments for the direct management of acute & chronic illness/disease for critically ill medical & surgical patients in the ICUs.

The CCS APP work autonomously in interdisciplinary teams & positively contribute to high quality care while maintaining safety measures with a goal of optimal outcomes a desirable patient experience.

Qualifications

License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required

Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Associate Master's Degree program OR APN Masters (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing (DNP) Program

Certification: BLS/CPR & ACLS certification required

Experience: Prior APN/PA experience preferred.

Will consider ANP or FNP with relevant experience & training

Special Knowledge and Skills Required

Experienced in critical care patient management mandatory OR completion of a one-year critical care residency required

Preferred Qualifications

Cardiovascular experience a plus

APN Acute Care NP OR Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP Board Certification (ACNP or AGACNP Board Certification) preferred
