
Operational Support Associate - Shipping & Receiving - Weekend Nights

Overview
The Receiving Clerk supports the operation by logging all incoming purchase orders and auditing completed receiving paperwork to ensure accuracy. This role assists inventory to ensure stores are stocked for customers and observes incoming/outgoing merchandise for defects and damage. The Receiving Clerk will call vendors for packing lists and freight bills as necessary and maintain a comprehensive filing system for completed receiving packets. The role operates distribution computer systems as required to efficiently control merchandise flow and uses industrial motorized and non-motorized equipment to unload trailers, transport, select, stock, and load heavy/large merchandise as needed to assist the Receiving team.
Shift: Friday – Sunday 6 pm – 6:30 am.
Responsibilities
Log all incoming purchase orders and audit receiving paperwork to ensure accuracy.
Assist inventory to ensure stores are appropriately stocked for customers.
Observe incoming/outgoing merchandise for defects and damage.
Call vendors for packing lists and freight bills as necessary.
Maintain a comprehensive filing system for completed receiving packets.
Operate distribution computer systems to control merchandise flow.
Use industrial motorized and non-motorized equipment to unload trailers, transport, select, stock, and load merchandise as needed to support the Receiving team.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Demonstrated track record of good attendance
Basic math and reading comprehension skills
Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
If internal, no written warnings within the last 6 months or final warnings within the last 12 months
Preferred Qualifications
Post-secondary education in business, supply chain management, transportation or related field
Experience in a customer service role
Experience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problems
Experience in distribution center operations
Experience with software applications such as Excel, Access or data management system (Lowe’s DMS preferred)
Experience managing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously requiring prioritization and time management
Previous power equipment experience (e.g., reach truck or RC)
