Job Objective
The Supervisor Distribution is an entry‑level leader who is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and directing the day‑to‑day operational activities of their designated distribution center. This role trains and develops hourly employees, estimates personnel needs, assigns tasks, ensures the accuracy and timeliness of work, and interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies.
Responsibilities
Supervise distribution department functions, including reviewing orders and schedules to ensure activities are completed according to established timelines.
Determine work priorities and assignments needed to meet schedules, and coordinate proper staffing and equipment.
Maintain necessary inventory of materials and supplies to satisfy daily operational demands.
Oversee the movement of finished goods through the warehouse from receiving to shipping and returns.
Select, hire, train, and appraise Distribution Team Members to attain the highest quality standards and optimal productivity.
Complete performance evaluations and provide continuous performance feedback.
Create a safe work environment that meets company safety guidelines and achieves departmental safety goals.
Continuously measure and monitor performance according to established standards.
Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
4‑6 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
0‑2 years of management experience.
Competencies
Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
Focused on and responsible for the team’s productivity and collective impact.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formal guidelines and procedures.
