Parts Inventory Specialist
Location:
Salem, Oregon
Compensation:
$22-$28/hr. DOE (Adjustable based on client guidance)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Who We Are
Our client is a well-established operation focused on maintaining efficient shop operations, equipment uptime, and strong vendor relationships. This role plays a key part in ensuring the shop runs smoothly by managing parts inventory, coordinating with mechanics, and supporting shop administration.
What You’ll Do
Order parts and consumables to support shop operations
Work closely with mechanics and shop management to determine parts needs
Maintain accurate inventory of parts and supplies
Pick up parts locally and assist with deliveries as needed
Maintain parts ordering paperwork, including purchase orders and receipts
Enter data into purchase order and inventory software
Assist with shop administrative duties and documentation
Participate in safety-related tasks such as inspections and fire extinguisher checks
Conduct scheduled supply and inventory checks throughout the yard
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
Assist shop staff and management with special projects
Support overall shop organization and operational efficiency

What You Need to Have
Minimum 3 years of computer experience (Microsoft Office preferred)
Previous experience in parts management and/or inventory control
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to communicate effectively with shop staff and vendors
Preferred
Experience working in a mechanical or industrial shop environment
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Experience with purchase order or inventory software
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Standing, walking, and moving throughout shop and yard environments
Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs
Driving company vehicles and forklifts as needed
Working around moving equipment, noise, and outdoor conditions
Frequent bending, reaching, and manual handling of parts
