Second shift position, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Monday – Thursday. Overtime on Fridays as needed. Pay for this role is $21.98 per hour with a $1.25 shift differential. E.A. Sween is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Minority/Female/Veteran/Disability.
What We’re Seeking
The Back-Up Warehouse Lead has primary responsibility for providing daily support and leadership to assigned areas of the warehouse which may include the Temp Room and Bread Room. The Back-Up Warehouse Lead will also act as the Lead in their absence ensuring smooth operation and continuity of leadership. The Back-Up Warehouse Lead will ensure standards and expectations for safety, quality, and production are followed consistently. This position will actively contribute to the Company\u2019s Lean initiatives, support company growth, and perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Leadership: Oversee and guide warehouse associates, including temp room, to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company policies and the Spirit of EA Sween. Address operational issues and provide solutions to maintain efficiency. Assist in the movement and timely deployment of raw materials. Work on prioritizing raw materials and organizing storage locations. Perform daily cycle count of bread inventory.
Training: Manage associates\' orientation and on-the-job training in assigned areas, including standard work, safety, GMPs, and documentation. Assist in creating and maintaining standard works for the Temp Room.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with other leaders, managers, and associates to coordinate activities and address issues. Ensure clear, timely communication regarding operational updates, changes, and performance feedback.
Documentation: Verifies that all reports and documents are accurate and complete. Ensures weights or counts of all products transferred from the Temp room to the Prep Room are accurately recorded, scanned, and validated at the end of the work order.
Food Safety and Quality: Ensures raw materials are issued appropriately using FIFO and allergen control. Ensure that non-approved (on hold) raw materials are stored in the correct area and are not used for production. Ensures all team members follow allergen and non-allergen protocols, GMP, and food safety practices. Manage transactions, storage, use, and disposal process of carry-over. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ensures barcodes and allergen tags are placed on raw materials when receiving. Verify that raw materials are slacked according to standard procedures. Execute assigned food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities to support regulatory and customer requirements.
Safety: Prioritize safety across the facility and encourage safe work habits. Ensure employees adhere to policies, procedures, safety regulations, and government rules. Complete E.A. Sween\'s quarterly safety training sessions to comply with OSHA regulations and company policy. Safely operate pallet jacks and forklifts when loading, unloading, and moving supplies and equipment.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
Previous lead or supervisory experience a plus
Must be able to work in cool conditions (35 to 45 degrees)
Must be able to be on feet for most of the day
Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push, pull
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to speak and communicate in English
Must be able to work well with various levels of employees and diverse cultures
Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and co-workers
