
Sheet Metal Project Manager

Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects with a high level of professionalism and accountability. This role focuses on coordinating resources and managing complex sheet metal and metal fabrication projects from start to finish. Success in this position requires strong collaboration, adherence to schedules and budgets, and effective problem-solving abilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for the financial performance of the projects you manage, working to meet established goals while ensuring a high level of client satisfaction. You will also handle challenges that require sound judgment and conflict resolution skills. Effective project management is critical to delivering quality results and supporting both clients and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Review contracts in detail and provide input regarding scope, value, and terms
Verify receipt of contracts or purchase orders and confirm project initiation
Partner with field leadership and estimating teams to plan labor phases and track workforce allocation
Develop and execute project plans to ensure timely and cost-efficient completion
Coordinate with project support staff to set up projects within accounting systems
Create and maintain design and fabrication/installation schedules, updating progress weekly
Prepare, present, and negotiate monthly billing with clients
Oversee procurement, fabrication timelines, equipment scheduling, and subcontractor submittals
Monitor labor productivity in fabrication and field installation, providing updates to teams
Lead weekly team meetings and establish short-term production goals
Present monthly financial updates for assigned projects
Manage change orders and maintain strong client relationships on-site
Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists and final installation completion
Ensure all required documentation is completed and submitted at project closeout
Promote and enforce safety standards for employees and subcontractors
Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
Experience in sheet metal fabrication, detailing, or manufacturing processes preferred
Prior project management experience in construction, fabrication, or industrial environments
Strong understanding of sheet metal systems, fabrication workflows, and installation processes
Experience with design-build or custom fabrication projects is a plus
Ability to learn and use construction or fabrication management software
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Results-oriented with a focus on both process and outcomes
