Job Description
Individuals who are eligible for a training and development assignment will be considered for this position. Under the direction of the Community Resources Manager, the Office Technician performs detailed assignments with high initiative, independence, and originality. The position relieves the manager of routine office details and includes using a computer to compose or type memoranda, letters, and procedures; maintaining a file for the subdivision to ensure timelines are met; answering telephone; maintaining filing; and performing other clerical duties as required.

Working Conditions
The Office Technician will work on site at High Desert State Prison, located approximately eight miles east of Susanville, Nevada. The position is in‑office with no telework.
Minimum Requirements
Eligible for a training and development assignment.
Special Requirements
Pursue and present a valid typing certificate confirming a minimum typing speed as designated in the class specifications.
Pass a background investigation and a tuberculosis test prior to appointment, followed by annual tuberculosis testing thereafter.
Pass the Office Technician (Typing) exam to qualify for this position and for eligibility for the Case Records Technician role.
