
Lead Distribution and Collections Operator - Pembroke Pines, FL

Essential Functions
Prepare pre-task plan and conduct all hazards analysis to ensure the safety of the team in the execution of daily tasks
Plan, direct, train and supervise new and existing personnel at work sites; provide instruction on more difficult trades; carry out assigned tasks through utilization of materials and assigned personnel.
Respond to, generate and close out work orders; conduct onsite inspections; ensure compliance with safety standards, permitting and record‑keeping requirements.
Participate in weekly rotating "after hours" call‑out duty that requires prompt response on a 24‑hour basis including weekends and holidays.
Install, maintain and troubleshoot water and wastewater equipment such as backflow devices, fire hydrants, manholes, meter systems, valves, and other associated water and wastewater equipment.
Perform basic water and sewer line installations and repairs and check for low water pressure.
Assist in performing scheduled preventative maintenance and routine cleaning as required.
Assist in repairs of water/wastewater treatment system equipment, machinery, and transmission/distribution/collection lines.
May operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including backhoes, cranes, forklifts, jet‑vac trucks, dump trucks and other associated water and wastewater equipment.
Operate equipment used in trench work, including compactors.
Backfill excavations according to Pembroke Pines engineering specifications.
Restore excavations to original condition, including landscaping, concrete and asphalt replacement.
Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on all equipment.
Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
Turn water meters on and off, install or assist with installation of meters and meter boxes.
Clean and clear sewer lines.
Lift station wet well cleaning.
Repair breaks, leaks and install new lines.
Adjust manhole covers and frame replacement.
Repair defective sewer lines and make point repairs.
Complete work orders and field complaint forms.
Perform other duties as required.
Here’s what you’ll need
Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement
Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Class 3 Distribution Operator License
FWPCOA Class C Collections License
Experience in maintenance of collections and distribution systems
Construction experience including managing
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Ideally, Here’s What You Will Also Have
Possess, or be able to obtain a FDEP Class 1 Distribution Operator License
Possess, or be able to obtain a FWPCOA Class A Collections License
Possess, or be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License

The base salary range for this position is $53,500.00 to $62,400.00; though it will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
