Senior Manager, Enterprise AI Engineering

Expedia Group’s enterprise IT team is seeking a visionary technical leader to own and optimize our Enterprise AI ecosystem, with a primary focus on the administration and engineering of our Enterprise Search and AI assistant technology. As the Senior Manager of Enterprise AI Engineering, you will not only administer the platform but also architect the "central nervous system" of our company’s knowledge.

You will lead the engineering efforts to connect our data silos, ensure granular security governance, and build custom AI agents that drive productivity. You will act as the bridge between our internal data and the Large Language Models (LLMs) that power our workforce, ensuring our deployment is secure, scalable, and highly adopted.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven SaaS platforms, ensuring scalable and robust technical solutions across multiple business domains.

Drive cross-functional teams to define and deliver innovative product capabilities powered by machine learning and advanced data modeling.

Develop and enforce system architecture standards, including API design and low-level system design, to support secure and efficient integration of AI/ML-enabled solutions.

Advocate for operational excellence, including reliability, security, and performance best practices in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Guide the adoption and safe integration of AI/ML technologies, tools, and workflows, applying AI/ML concepts to address real-world product challenges.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement through technical mentorship, collaboration, and the championing of data-driven decision making.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Level; Technical Degree Preferred

8+ years of relevant professional experience and 3+ years of people management experience

Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end SaaS platform delivery at a multi-service or domain level

Proven expertise in system design, API development, data modeling, and integrating AI/ML solutions into production environments

Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating and scaling AI-powered SaaS products across global or enterprise environments

Track record of architectural leadership, driving adoption of advanced AI/ML techniques within large-scale, distributed systems

Strong background in operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response, and automated quality assurance for AI-enabled solutions

Demonstrated ability to take products from concept to scaled adoption, leveraging AI/ML to drive user and business impact

Hands-on experience with safe and ethical integration of generative AI models within SaaS platforms

Salary
The total cash range for this position in Austin is $156,500.00 to $219,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $250,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
