Materials Lab Manager

Overview
Apex Companies is a growth-focused consulting and engineering firm recognized for its performance and client service. We are seeking an experienced Materials Laboratory Manager to lead our construction materials testing and inspection services in Rexburg, Idaho. This role oversees laboratory and field testing operations, manages technical staff, ensures compliance with state and industry standards, and supports transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the region.
Responsibilities
Provide staff oversight for sampling and testing procedures
Provide accurate sampling and documentation for test results
Develop scope of work
Schedule and deploy technicians for field sampling
Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained according to QA/QC protocols
Follow company and industry safety protocols and maintain a clean lab environment
Coordinate with project engineers and field technicians to prioritize test scheduling
Assist with field sampling or inspections as needed
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience in construction materials testing or materials laboratory management
Experience supporting transportation and infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of construction materials testing procedures and standards
Experience managing field and laboratory staff
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Required Certifications, Or Ability To Obtain Within 6 Months
ACI Certified
