Senior Commercial Manager – Data Center Team
Senior Commercial Manager will engage as a key leadership role, leading a team of Commercial Management professionals to support a multi‑billion dollar EPCM project. You will work closely with the Jacobs Project Director, Construction Manager, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Responsibilities
Partner cross‑functionally with sales, operations, CMG, and SMG teams to shape and negotiate Teaming Agreements, Subconsultant Agreements, and Design Services Agreements (DSAs).
Design and strengthen contract management practices by developing and implementing compliant, efficient procedures.
Champion subconsultant compliance by proactively overseeing subcontract performance and ensuring all contractual requirements are fulfilled.
Evaluate and substantiate change opportunities by validating potential change orders for merit and engaging technical and financial resources.
Guide the preparation and execution of change orders, providing support to contracts administration and project teams.
Lead or support change negotiations alongside PMs and DMs to protect project and organizational interests.
Coordinate claim defense readiness by compiling documentation and supporting legal partners in preparing and defending potential claims.
Reduce contractual ambiguity through detailed review of contract documents, identifying and addressing conflicts.
Drive proactive risk management by assisting in identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Anticipate and manage potential claims by reviewing issue logs and monitoring project developments.
Ensure contractual compliance and protection by confirming all required insurances, representations, and certifications.
Monitor schedules for contractual milestones, deliverables, notices, and certifications to ensure obligations are met.
Facilitate clear contract administration through organized documentation and accurate record keeping.
Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing and payment application issues involving clients, subconsultants, and suppliers.
Lead contract closeout efforts by ensuring prime contract closeout requirements are completed before final payment.
Provide contractual insight to project controls regarding the financial and contractual impacts of change orders and project adjustments.
Build organizational capability by delivering contract awareness and change order training to key project staff.
Qualifications
Minimum of 15+ years of demonstrated commercial management, contract management, and risk management experience in P&L and/or mega projects within the A&E industry.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in engineering, construction management, business or contract law.
Commercial awareness coupled with a strategic mindset.
Ability to collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams.
Proficiency in communicating complex contractual issues to broad audiences, including legal teams, project/delivery teams, and executive leadership.
Proficiency in document management systems, cost accounting systems, cost estimating, and project schedules.
Ability to operate autonomously and travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in engineering, construction management, business or contract law.
Benefits and Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $111,100.00 to $152,700.00, with additional compensation opportunities that may include stock, merit increases, and performance‑based bonuses. Benefits include access to medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, participation in a 401(k) plan, the ability to purchase company stock at a discount, eligibility for a deferred compensation or Executive Deferral Plan, unlimited US Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) for full‑time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, and caregiver leave. Certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards.
