Job Overview
Under general supervision of the site administrator, the Site Facility Coordinator oversees and maintains operational and personnel records and reports; keeps assigned building areas clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly; secures buildings and grounds; performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance; supervises custodian staff, and performs special projects.
Role at Different Application Levels
Site Facilities Coordinator I oversees custodial positions at the site and manages cleaning, safety, and accomplishments of custodians.
Site Facilities Coordinator II oversees custodial positions and manages cleaning, safety, and accomplishments of lead custodians or custodians at the site with more varied, difficult and complex duties.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and assign cleaning and service maintenance duties; oversee subordinates and inspect completed work.
Maintain operational, administrative, and personnel records and reports.
Inventory, requisition, and manage custodial supplies and equipment.
Coordinate utilization of school facilities for special events and general school operations.
Inspect buildings and grounds for safety, pest management, vandalism, and repair needs; perform maintenance tasks on pools, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Execute thorough cleaning and maintenance of buildings, floors, furniture, restrooms, windows, and exterior surfaces.
Perform outside maintenance: snow removal, mowing, weed removal, sprinkler repair, painting, landscaping.
Participate in intensive cleaning and restoration during break periods.
Respond to emergencies on off-hours including burglaries, vandalism, fires, or equipment failures.
Employment Standards
Education/Experience:
High school diploma desirable; one (1) year of custodial experience or equivalent training, with supervisory experience desirable.
Knowledge:
Reading, writing, arithmetic, cleaning materials, heating/plumbing/electrical systems, safety practices, emergency/first aid techniques, supervisory practices.
Skill:
Understanding instructions, basic computer skills, training/coordinating staff, preparing records, maintaining equipment, performing repair work, working independently, handling adverse conditions, time management, physical work, ladder use, simple arithmetic, building relationships.
Special Considerations:
Certain schools require specific safety procedures and vaccinations (Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Tetanus).
Licenses/Certificates:
Valid Nevada State Operator's license with an acceptable driving record.
Additional Requirements for New School Construction
Knowledge of scheduling, unloading, organizing and staging product deliveries, and coordinating setup of new building facilities.
