Job Summary
The restaurant host welcomes guests, manages reservations or wait‑lists, seats customers with menus, answers calls and questions, and assists staff as needed.

The Details

Position Type: Part‑Time, Year‑Round

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule: Hours will include weekends, evenings, and holidays

Responsibilities

Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal

Greet guests as they approach the podium and make them feel welcome in the dining room

Seat guests as quickly as possible; if a table is not immediately available, accurately inform the guest(s) of how long the wait will be

Keep the seating chart current and seat guests in a proper flow to avoid over‑seating any sections

Keep menus clean and presentable and discard any menus that are too worn or tattered

Be knowledgeable with all dining‑room floor sections

Report any guest complaints and/or issues immediately to the Service Manager or Unit Manager, responding in a professional, sincere manner

Complete opening and closing side duties according to dining‑room standards

Maintain a seating log to ensure accurate cover count for the seating period

Assist servers as needed to clear and set tables

Adhere to all prescribed company, statutory/regulatory policies, and procedures

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age

Physical Requirements
Constantly: stand and walk. Frequently: handle items and reach outward. Occasionally: sit, reach above shoulder, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
