
Dining Services Supervisor

About The Position
This position is primarily responsible for supervision of Dining Services operations and staff across various dining venues, catering support, merchandising functions, and the main kitchen. The role includes overseeing culinary operations, ensuring food is prepared, supplied, and supported according to standardized recipes, departmental procedures, and safety guidelines.
Hours: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., including weekends and possible holidays.
Pay rate: $24 per hour.
Job Duties
Monitors work schedules and daily job activities.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
Maintains effective resident relations, prioritizing resident care.
Monitors sanitation of the Dining Service operation, ensuring daily and weekly cleaning assignments and equipment cleaning are complete.
Directs departmental activities (meal service, food production, catering, tray service, merchandising) and supports meal service operations; monitors food quality, temperatures, portion control, and special dietary requirements.
Supports/directs café, healthcare, catering functions and special events as necessary.
Interviews candidates for employment and collaborates with Human Resources and Director in hiring and termination decisions.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent with at least three years of food service experience preferred.
At least one year of supervisory experience required.
Proficient with back‑office Point of Sale (POS) system functions.
Must be SERVSafe certified or be able to obtain certification within four months of hire.
Experience in institutional food service preferred.
Effective interpersonal skills to deal tactfully with staff, residents, and others.
Excellent communication and independent judgment skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
