Responsibilities
Skywood Recovery Center is a residential treatment facility offering integrated treatment for addiction and mental health conditions. The facility provides individual and group therapy, experiential therapy, equine and art therapy, and yoga. Located in Augusta, MI, the campus offers a restorative environment with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
Completes medical screening and/or assessment of new patients immediately upon admission according to level of care procedures.
Monitors medication process for individuals living in residential facilities including supervision of medication distribution and self‑administration processes.
Prepares Medication Administration Record (MAR).
Provides ongoing patient education (group and individual) regarding medications.
Implements and monitors procedures for random urine drug screens to ensure each individual is screened as appropriate.
Ensures that test results are documented in the medical file and with the patient’s clinician.
Participates in weekly staff and clinical meetings.
Cross‑trains and supports other areas as needed or requested by the Manager.
Qualifications
This position is responsible for assessing patients’ medical needs, monitoring medications, administering and tracking TB skin tests, monitoring random drug screens, and assisting medical providers as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrates a broad base of knowledge in psychiatric and addiction treatment and administration.
Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
Understands the need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources, and all other contacts.
Work in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Has general knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Understanding of diverse cultures and gender‑specific issues and the ability to incorporate the needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the organization.
Education and Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
Unencumbered State of Michigan LPN or RN License.
Minimum 3 years of experience working in psychology/psychiatry or a related field preferred.
