JOB DESCRIPTION
The Medical Assistant assists with patient care management, executes administrative and clinical procedures. The position provides exceptional medical care that meets each patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs. The assistant provides administrative/clinical assistance to physicians, mid-level practitioners, nurses, and patients while adhering to prescribed treatment plans in accordance with established policies and procedures. The job requires performance of each essential duty satisfactorily. The person works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callbacks as required, and may be required to remain on campus before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

LPN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Licensed Practical Nurse performs selected nursing acts in the care of the ill, injured, or infirm patient under the direction of the Physician. Responsibilities are similar to the general shift structure described for the Medical Assistant.

QUALIFICATIONS
Medical Assistant

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Successful completion of an accredited medical assisting program or graduation from a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces (preferred)

Certified or registered by day of hire with AAMA Certified, AMT Registered, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, NCRMA, or AMCA certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association required within 30 days of employment

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, medical law, ethics, human relations, patient education, and ability to perform administrative and clinical medical assisting duties; ability to communicate effectively written and verbally; basic computer skills; knowledge of and ability to perform EKGs and obtain accurate blood pressure readings

LPN

Graduate of a Practical Nursing program

Current LPN license in the State of Florida; BLS required

Ability to read and understand English; knowledge of patient care charts and histories; knowledge of clinical and/or surgical operations and documentation; knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures

Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and services ordering and inventory control

Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for medication administration and patient care aids; proficient with computer skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
