CNC Operator - 2nd Shift

Your role at Baxter
As part of the Fabrications team, you will perform setup tasks and operate a variety of machinery including CNC milling machines, hand lathes, and single‑spindle automatic screw machines, which produce parts made of metals, alloys, and plastics.

2nd Shift – Onsite
What You’ll Be Doing

Operate CNC machines and maintain them in appropriate working order.

Operate one machine group with little to no guidance.

Perform routine machine servicing tasks such as cleaning inside machines, replacing full chip bins, replacing worn or broken tooling, and refilling oil, clearing screens, and changing high‑pressure filters.

Perform parts verifications and quality checks, and record results on associated documentation/specification sheets.

Maintain tools and department equipment in good working order.

Perform cleaning/6S tasks to keep the department neat and organized.

Follow safety, quality, and production protocols.

Qualifications

CNC machining experience.

Follow all safety guidelines.

Ability to manage and organize complex technical problems.

Good written and oral communication skills, excellent attention to detail.

Proficiency with measurement tools including calipers, comparators, micrometers, and fixed gauges.

Knowledge of GMP/manufacturing environment and regulatory compliance for medical devices.

Ability to lift 40 lbs.

What You’ll Bring

High school diploma or GED.

1–2 years’ experience in CNC machining.

Experience working in a regulated industry is a plus.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of hand measurement tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must have good hand‑to‑eye coordination and dexterity.

Dynamic lifting capability: must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time.

Work Environment

Wearing safety glasses and steel‑toe boots at all times while on the production floor.

Working in close proximity to other employees.

Working in an environment that is temperature and humidity controlled.

Compensation
Hourly pay rate of $24.00. The pay rate is based on several factors including relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
