Psychiatric Intake RN – Full-time Days, 12 hours

The 62‑bed facility, located on the campus of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, is accredited by The Joint Commission. The facility offers comprehensive, individualized treatment services by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, clinicians, mental health technicians and recreation therapists who are committed to high‑quality care.
Admissions Clinician Responsibilities
The Admissions Clinician is responsible for conducting mental health assessments, communicating with psychiatrists in determining level of care needed, facilitating admissions and referrals to and from other agencies and treatment centers, conducting pre‑certifications and utilization reviews, and fostering positive relationships with all referral sources. The Clinician is required to have excellent verbal and written communication skills to assure accurate coordination of care.
Job Duties
Include addressing needs of telephonic callers seeking assistance
Performing level of care mental health assessments
Documenting in the electronic medical record
Coordinating patient care with internal and external providers
Maintaining department records/statistics
Complete pre‑certifications and utilization reviews as needed
Participate in patient safety activities
Receive and document physician orders as it pertains to admissions and/or patients in intake.
Provide appropriate medical treatment within the scope of practice for an RN.
Document and coordinate external transfers via MOT for patients experiencing a medical emergency in intake.
Indirect report by CNO.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Nurse Degree from accredited university.
Registered Nurses (RNs) encouraged to apply.
Minimum one year experience in mental health setting performing assessments.
