Overview
A state-of-the-art medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology practice is seeking a full-time
Medical Assistant
to join our team as part of our
structured Pre-Health Track program . This position is designed for individuals taking a gap year who are planning to pursue careers in medicine or other health professions and are seeking meaningful, hands-on clinical experience.
This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a growing practice and play a foundational role in establishing our new Baltimore County location, set to open in August 2026. The role includes a 1-2 month training period in our Annapolis office. After this transitional period, the role will be based full time in the Baltimore County office.
Our practice offers a collaborative, patient-centered environment led by board-certified dermatology physicians. As a member of our team, you will gain direct exposure to both medical and cosmetic dermatology while working closely with physicians and clinical staff in a privately owned boutique practice setting.
This is a
full-time, paid position with a one-year commitment , providing the opportunity to develop clinical skills, learn the workflow of a specialty practice, and gain valuable mentorship as you prepare for medical or professional school.
Participants in the program receive structured exposure to clinical medicine along with professional mentorship, including:
Direct physician mentorship and scheduled one-on-one meetings to discuss career goals
Guidance on medical and professional school applications
Interview preparation and advising
A personalized letter of recommendation for participants who demonstrate strong performance and professionalism
The opportunity to work closely with physicians who successfully matched into dermatology, one of the most competitive specialties in medicine
Job Responsibilities
Rooming patients and taking patient histories
Presenting patients concisely and effectively to providers
Sending prescriptions and managing refills
Assisting with medical procedures during office-visits as well as surgical procedures
Assisting with laser and other cosmetic procedures
Managing patient communications with regards to biopsy results, prescription refills, and general concerns/questions
Daily cleaning of exam rooms, laboratory spaces, and sterilization of surgical equipment
Qualifications
Interest in medicine, dermatology, or healthcare careers
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Prior medical assistant or healthcare experience preferred but not required
Ability to commit to a
full-time, one-year position
