Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist – Boston, MA
Job Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with every 3rd weekend.
Job Responsibilities
Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Process billing information and collect payments when required.
Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
Provide superior customer service to all patients.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
Travel to additional sites when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or one year or more experience as a phlebotomist.
Preferred Qualifications
Current or previous Labcorp experience.
Two or more years of experience as a phlebotomist.
One or more years of medical assistant experience.
Additional Job Standards
In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
Reliable transportation.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay range: $21.50 – $30.00 per hour.
Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
Employees scheduled 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off (PTO) or flexible time off (FTO), tuition reimbursement, and employee stock purchase plan. Employees scheduled fewer than 20 hours, including casual, intern, and temporary positions, are only eligible for the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO.
