Overview
Koinonia Homes for Teens is seeking a part-time Mental Health Support Worker (MHSW) to join our adolescent residential therapeutic program located in Antelope. The MHSW provides compassionate support to at-risk youth, helping them engage in daily program activities within a therapeutic environment.

Compensation and Benefits

$22.00 to $24.00 per hour starting wage. Eligible for annual pay increases.

Medical, dental, vision, chiropractic and behavioral health plan

PTO accrual, premium pay for working certain holidays, 401k plan and more

Responsibilities

Supervise youth on daily program activities within the residential program

Provide transportation as needed and supervise youth during outings

Model appropriate and positive adult behavior

Participate with social workers and youth in periodic group and individual therapy sessions

Perform routine household and grounds maintenance on occasion

Assist with food service for youth on occasion

Prepare paperwork and reports

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age (as required by state law)

Experience working with youth (e.g., coaching, tutoring, mentoring, daycare, volunteering or working in a school), OR a bachelor\'s degree, OR teaching certificate, OR Alcohol and Other Drug certification

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong time management and organizational skills

Reliable and dependable with the ability to work with minimal supervision; high degree of integrity and confidentiality

Reliable means of transportation; schedule that is flexible to meet work requirements

Must complete a criminal background clearance through the California Department of Justice and FBI, a pre-employment physical, and TB test

Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation; ability to transport youth to medical appointments, therapy sessions, educational activities, and other essential services; ability to respond to crisis situations as needed
