Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY
The APRN/PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
Performs physical examinations of surgical patients including, but not limited to: new patient visits, established/follow-up visits, pre & post-operative care.
OR assist allowed within scope of practice.
Responsibilities in clinic include but are not limited to: Management and closure of complex lacerations, wound care/dressing changes, debridement, suture removal, etc.
Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, other related imaging.
Monitors the patient's course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed.
Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.
Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.
Evaluate cardiac, renal, vascular, dermatologic, and GI systems, particularly as they relate to body edema.
SCHEDULE DETAILS
Monday Friday; 8:00 am 5:00 pm outpatient
Main location: AdventHealth Orlando
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
Strong communication skills
Strong medical decision-making skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
Surgical experience (preferred)
Minimum 5 years of experience practicing as an APRN or PA-C in plastic surgery
Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION
Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license
Current, valid DEA license
Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
