Registered Nurse
– Warren County Juvenile Detention Center, Lebanon, Ohio
Position Summary
A Registered Nurse delivers quality care within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act for Registered Nurses. The RN works in accordance with local practice acts and regulations, delegates and ensures supervision of nursing activities and functions appropriate to their scope of practice. The RN assumes responsibility and accountability for the quality of care delivered and promotes a safe environment for patients and staff. The RN acts as a patient advocate and leader to promote best practices within the profession of nursing.
Schedule
Full-Time Night shift
6P–6A
Rotating every other weekend
Rotating holidays
Minimum Requirements
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Must have at least 1 year of experience in an acute care setting
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
Active CPR certification
Knowledge of state laws and regulations governing practice
Completion of initial and annual clinical competencies as assigned
Essential Functions
Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
Administer medications and monitor for reactions and side effects
Record patients’ medical information and vital signs
Monitor, record, and report changes in patient condition
Collaborate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
Modify treatment plans as indicated by patient responses
Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity
Direct or supervise nursing or healthcare personnel as assigned
Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments
Educate individuals and groups on health topics and develop health improvement programs
Prepare rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies; maintain stock
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests as needed
Additional duties as assigned by the facility
