
Clinical Lab Assistant

Overview
Performs patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Collects, labels, and processes patient specimens for testing. Responsible for registration and test data entry. Monitors laboratory supply levels. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. Handles internal and external customer inquiries and problem resolution. Frequently interacts with hospital and physician office staff. May perform EKG and glucose meter procedures at the patient’s bedside.
Responsibilities
Perform patient phlebotomy and specimen collection.
Label and process specimens for laboratory testing.
Register patients and enter test data.
Monitor laboratory supply levels.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues.
Assist with EKG and glucose meter procedures as required.
Qualifications
BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Completion of a Phlebotomy Program or Course (in lieu of 1 year experience).
High school diploma required.
No experience required.
Education
High School Diploma required. Completion of a Phlebotomy Program or Course may substitute for 1 year of experience.
Certification/Licensure
Completion of a Phlebotomy Program or Course is acceptable in lieu of 1 year of experience.
