Overview
The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages. Serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students.

New grads with 1 year of experience or less: $5,000
Experienced OTs with 1 year of experience or more: $7,500

Qualifications
Education Level:
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Licenses/Certifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA); attend and satisfactorily complete continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients; if applicable, complete annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
1+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor; demonstrate safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce risk of injury to self, staff, and patients.
Design an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan; adjust care based on patient response and available evidence.
Educate patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.
Evaluate clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care.
Perform examination, selecting reliable and valid examination methods relevant to the chief complaint, results of screening, and history.
Screen patients using procedures to determine the effectiveness of and need for therapy services, if appropriate.
Use support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines; monitor the care delivered by support personnel and provide regular feedback.
Document evaluations and plans of care according to department policy, including goals, modifications of treatment plans, and patients' response to treatments.
If applicable, complete annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
Evaluate and implement intervention plans utilizing functional activities and considering functional and emotional needs of the patient/family; modify approach in response to patient behavior and performance.
Utilize standardized outcome measures uniformly to ensure functional performance is accurately reflected.
Complete documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Collaborate with patient, family, and significant others throughout the rehabilitation process and provide education/family training as necessary.
Provide supervision to COTA and rehabilitation technicians in accordance with regulatory agencies.
Communicate patient performance, changes in status, activity/transfer recommendations, and recommendations for discharge disposition and required equipment to the medical team.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation range: $34.66 per hour – $59.62 per hour.
