
Organ Donation Coordinator [ICU RN or Respiratory Therapist] - 36 hours a week/

Job Summary
New England Donor Services is seeking an experienced ICU RN, Critical Care RN, Trauma Nurse or Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a Donation Coordinator. In this role you will respond on-siteto organ donor referrals and provide clinical expertise in donor evaluation, donor management, organ allocation and organ recovery.
You will blend high-level clinical and interpersonal skills to educate hospital staff on the donation process, work with donor families to obtain consent for donation, and work with multiple surgical teams and critical care staff to optimize organs for transplantation.
Schedule
Orientation: After a week-long company-wide onsite orientation (Waltham, MA) you will participate in a specialized organ donation training program.
New Hire Donation Academy: 3 days per week for the first 3 weeks in the Waltham office (generally Tuesday through Thursday on a day shift) followed by a mix of 16-hour day and 12-hour night on-call shifts; an average of 14 shifts per 4-week schedule plus additional trainings and meetings.
Independent schedule: 12-hour night shifts (8:00 pm – 8:00 am) – three shifts per week on a 4-week schedule (up to 40 hrs per week) plus trainings and meetings.
Significant personal-vehicle travel throughout New England is expected. Mileage and other reimbursements are available.
Qualifications
Critical care or trauma experience with medical/clinical credentials, including experience managing complicated clinical events.
Valid driver's license and insurance; reliable transportation; and requirement to maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as set by NEDS automobile policy.
Critical thinking skills and keen clinical assessment skills.
Compassionate and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to sit, stand, or bend for extended periods of time.
Excellent work ethic and forward-thinking orientation.
Travel to Waltham headquarters and various hospitals throughout New England.
Must be at least 21 years old and maintain required personal automobile insurance per NEDS policy.
Education & Experience
3-5 years of clinical/critical-care experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
CPTC certification a plus.
Ideal candidates live within an hour of Brockton, MA.
